Presentation – Leadership Application in the Public Sector
Join us for the presentation part of the evening as two well-known retired public sector leaders (and former CPSQA Chairs) discuss  the theory and principles of leadership in the public sector, and its application during their public service careers.

John Thomas – John’s public sector leader management career began as Comptroller for the Department of Fisheries and Oceans, and progressed to Assistant Commissioner in Corporate Management at Correctional Services Canada, and Commissioner of the Canadian Coast Guard which then led to John’s overseeing the integration of the Canadian Coast Guard with Fisheries and Oceans. John now consults for the public sector both in Canada and internationally in the Management of Change, Quality, Risk, Performance and Organizational Development.

Jean Tourigny – Jean has over 33 years of experience in the federal public sector, notably as Manager, Strategic and Business Planning for the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat. He went on to be Director, Strategic Planning for the Senate of Canada, Director, Quality Management for Public Works and Government Services Canada, Director, Program Operations Management and Accountability, Program Operations Branch of HRSDC, and Director, Strategic Planning for Public Safety Canada. Jean now offers consulting, training, coaching and other professional services to the Public Sector in Management, Quality Management, and Organizational Excellence.
