Mr. Bartkowiak is the President & CEO of Bruyère Continuing Care. In this capacity, he acts as Secretary of the Board of Directors and is an ex-officio member of all committees of the Board. He is also an ex-officio member of the Bruyère Foundation Board of Directors and the Élisabeth Bruyère Research Institute Board of Directors. Prior to joining Bruyère Continuing Care, Mr. Bartkowiak served as CEO of the Centre hospitalier des Vallées de l’Outaouais (Gatineau, QC) and the Hôtel‑Dieu d’Arthabaska (Victoriaville, QC), as well as Associate Executive Director at Hôpital Laval (Québec, QC) and the Restigouche Hospital Centre (Campbelton, NB). The development of alternatives to acute care hospitalization, client‑centered program management, and client expectation management are some of the achievements that govern his leadership career. He has served since 1996 as a surveyor with Accreditation Canada. Mr. Bartkowiak holds a Master’s degree in Health Services Administration (1981) from the University of Toronto, a Diploma in Institutional Administration (1979) from Concordia University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Neurobiology (1976) from McGill University. He is a certified (CHE) member of the Canadian College of Health Services Executives and also the Collège des Administrateurs agréés du Québec (AdmA). Currently, he serves as a board member of the Ontario Telehealth Network, the Catholic Health Association of Ontario, Cité Collégiale, and the Council of Academic Hospitals of Ontario. He is a Past-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Canadian College of Health Services Executives and Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Association des hôpitaux du Québec. One of Mr. Bartkowiak’s favourite past times is competing in dance competitions with his wife.

Dans le cadre de ses fonctions, il est également secrétaire du conseil d’administration et membre d’office de tous ses comités. Il est en outre membre d’office des conseils d’administration respectifs de la Fondation Bruyère et de l’Institut de recherche Élisabeth-Bruyère. Avant de se joindre aux Soins continus Bruyère, M. Bartkowiak a occupé les postes de directeur général du Centre hospitalier des Vallées de l’Outaouais (Gatineau, QC) et de l’Hôtel Dieu d’Arthabaska (Victoriaville, QC). M. Bartkowiak a également assumé les fonctions de directeur général adjoint à l’Hôpital Laval (Québec, QC) et au Centre hospitalier Restigouche (Campbelton, NB). L’élaboration d’alternatives aux hôpitaux de soins de courte durée, la gestion de programmes centrée sur les patients ainsi que la gestion des attentes de la clientèle sont autant de réalisations qui jalonnent la carrière de Jean Bartkowiak en qualité de gestionnaire. Depuis 1996, il est un visiteur d’Agrément Canada. M. Bartkowiak est titulaire d’une maîtrise en administration des services de santé (1981) de l’Université de Toronto, d’un diplôme en administration institutionnelle (1979) de l’Université Concordia et d’un baccalauréat en neurobiologie (1976) de l’Université McGill. Il est un membre agréé du Collège canadien des directeurs de services de santé et du Collège des administrateurs agréés du Québec (AdmA). Il siège actuellement aux conseils d’administration du Réseau de télésanté de l’Ontario, de l’Association catholique de la santé de l’Ontario, de la Cité Collégiale et du conseil des hôpitaux universitaires de l’Ontario. Il est président sortant du conseil d’administration du Collège canadien des directeurs de services de santé et vice‑président du conseil d’administration de l’Association des hôpitaux du Québec. L’un des passe-temps préférés de M. Bartkowiak est de participer à des compétitions de danse avec son épouse. |
