George Chin
Chair of Eastern Interministerial Council, Ontario Public Service
Bio:
George Chin is a graduate of the University of Ottawa in the Social Sciences. He has over the years participated in and received training and certification in a number of different areas; Advance Alternative Dispute Resolution, Quality Assessment, Transformational Coaching and Collaborative Leadership and Diversity and Inclusion. George is the Manager for Business Planning and Support for the Provincial Courts in Eastern Ontario with the Ministry of the Attorney General. He was also responsible for the management of the Ottawa Court Operations, one of the largest court operations in the Province.
He has been a Provincial Government Employee for 25 years and has also managed programs for the Provincial Ministry of Community and Social Services and the Regional Municipality of Ottawa Carleton. He has fulfilled many roles and worked in many capacities within the Ontario Public Service. Throughout the years George has been the recipient of many awards including the Amethyst Award for Outstanding Achievement by Ontario Public Servants for his exceptional leadership and being a collaborative innovator. He has been the recipient of the Provincial Recognition for Interministerial Excellence Award and other ministry awards for Outstanding Achievement and Team Work.
He is also Chair and a member of a number of Provincial and Local Committees such as; the Eastern Regional Interministerial Council, Hire Immigrants Public Sector Working Group, International Trained Workers Advisory Committee, Diversity and Inclusion Committee. He is also an active volunteer with the United Way and a number of Community Sports Associations.
