Subject: “Service Excellence and First Nations peoples in the Era of Self Government – Challenges and Opportunities“
Abstract: The devolution of federal and provincial programs has created a First Nations civil service which has resulted in new challenges for all service providers. This session will identify some of the key challenges in service to First Nations peoples but more importantly identify opportunities to ensure service excellence.
Bio: Karihwakeron Tim Thompson is a First Nations consultant with extensive experience in the First Nations public sector, locally, regionally, and nationally. Karihwakeron has also served as the President of a public First Nations post-secondary institution, and as the President of the Enaahtig Healing Lodge and Learning Centre. Karihwakeron comes from the bear clan family of the Mohawk Nation at Wahta Mohawk Territory.
