Outline:
Change and transition is a daily part of our work lives, and more than ever, we are experiencing tremendous pressure to achieve outstanding results in a climate of scarce resources and increasing complexity. Although there has been attention paid to change and transition management within the public sector, many of us are called upon to be familiar with and to apply the fundamental principles of how people experience change and transitions on a regular basis.
Focusing on the William Bridges model, Jonathan Steeves presented a special 3 hour interactive workshop on Change and Transition Management previously offered within the Department of National Defence (DND). Topics included:
– Defining Transition;
– The 3 Phase Model;
– Symptoms of Transition;
– People’s Needs during Transition; and
– 6 Functions of Transition
Report:
The subject was very well-received by the record crowd of 49 people and much discussion was generated. Attendees wanted to explore the subject in some depth and it is anticipated that Jonathan will be contacted by many over the weeks and months to come. Also, it is expected that many present returned to their offices with a much better understanding of the issues involved in Transition. Attendees are encouraged to click on the Presentation link above but in order to gain access to the Presentation, it will be necessary that the person log in as a Member of CPSQA.
